Communicating with a patient who suffered from a stroke or a speech disability may be difficult, but it is not impossible. Here are some alternative methods of communication:
A. No technology type
Methods such as body language, gestures, and facial expressions that require no extra equipment
B. Low-technology system
Also called “aided communication” which needs basic equipment such as pen and paper, alphabet and word boards, charts, books, and photos to represent objects and thoughts
C. High-technology system
Using gadgets or software such as mobile devices, tablets, and laptops.
